A little about me

Ms. Salome Montoya obtained her Associates in Arts from Miami Dade College. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at the same time developing a Master of Science in Civil Engineering through a combined program offered by Florida International University. Some of her personal interests include playing tennis, bike riding and traveling.

Ms. Montoya is employed as a Project Designer leading multiple projects including numerous pump stations, 65,000+ linear feet of water mains, force mains and stormwater collection systems. She has experience in the civil engineering & construction sector, with a focus on water resources projects. She has garnered a vast amount of expertise in the design, permitting, procurement and constructions processes of water, wastewater and water resources projects including various pipeline installations through micro tunneling, directional drilling, jack and bore and slip lining.

Ms. Montoya has provided engineering consulting and construction services to a variety of clients, including: City of Miami Beach (CMB), Miami Dade Water and Sewer Department (MDWASD), City of North Miami (CNM) and City of Doral.

Research interests

Research interests include water quality, green infrastructure, hydraulic systems, hydrology, stormwater management control and climate change.
