Research Assistantships are available for qualified
graduate students, with special emphasis on
doctoral students. Students with interest in experimental work, computer
modeling and theoretical
analysis and design will have the opportunity to work on various aspects of
several multi-year projects
with the National Science Foundation (NSF), National Cooperative Highway
Research Program (NCHRP), and state Departments of Transportation (DOT).
The projects are related to fiber reinforced polymers (FRP), composite decks on
steel or concrete girders, nonlinear and time dependent behavior of concrete,
hybrid construction with concrete and FRP, high performance concrete decks, prestressed concrete girders, composite piles, and
nondestructive evaluation (NDE).
