BCN 3640: Economic Planning for Construction

This course investigates nature of construction costs, funding sources and arrangements, capital requirements, bonding, insurance, risk and contingency evaluation, general office operations, and bidding procedures. A series of individual graded assignments on specific topics, term exams, a final exam, and a comprehensive group project is required.

 

BCN 5645: Construction Economic Analysis

This course investigates the principal methods, tools, and techniques used in construction management and economic analysis to provide students with a sound understanding of the basic concepts, and methodology of construction economy, construction costs, funding sources, and risk and contingency evaluation. The main objective of the course is to help students develop skills for making decisions regarding situations that are likely to be observed in professional practice. A series of individual graded assignments on specific topics, term exams, and a comprehensive group project to develop the complete construction economic analysis for a real project is required.

 

BCN 6775: Decision and Risk Analysis in Construction

This course provides an overview of decision and risk analysis in construction, specifically risk associated with different stages of a project life cycle. The course provides an overview of (1) risk analysis and identification; (2) risk assessment, and (3) risk mitigation. Individual graded assignments, term exams, and a term group project is required.

 

BCN 6916: Developments in Construction Technology

The course investigates the principal technologies and emerging applications that have a significant impact on the construction industry to help students develop skills for making decisions regarding situations that are likely to be observed in professional practice. A series of individual graded assignments on specific topics and a comprehensive project is required.
