Anup is doing his, Ph.D in Materials Engineering at FIU under the supervision of Dr. Agarwal since Fall 2006. He was working as an Assistant Manager-Six-Sigma in Ispat Industries Limited, Dolvi, Mumbai-India. He has completed his Masters in Materials engineering at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Chennai, India. He has done his Under-Graduation from Bihar Institute of Technology, Sindri, Dhanbad, India. His research interests are Synthesis and Characterization of Shape Memory Alloys (This work includes optimization of shape memory property as well as mechanical properties through ingot metallurgy route), Plasma spraying, and Synthesis and Characterization of PZT.

Research Topics:

• Comprehensive process maps for CNT Reinforced ceramic nanocomposite coating with improved fracture, fatigue, and wear properties ( Supported with grant from office of Naval Research)
• Liquid precursor plasma spraying of ceramics
• Hafnium based bulk metallic glasses
