What's involved in VLSI:

  • Analog and digital circuit design, FPGA and IC design
  • Probability and statistics
  • Circuit simulation tools, such as Mentor graphics, Pspice, Cadence, Synopsys
  • Programming skills, such as C/C++, Perl, Matlab

What's involved in Bioelectronics:

  • Basic understanding of biology, device physics
  • Fundamental knowledge of electronics, logic design
  • Programming skills, preferably in Matlab
     

What's involved in Wireless:

  • Robotic control, servo control
  • Knowledge of communication protocols, such as Wi-Fi, Wi-Max, TCP/IP, Ethernet
  • Programming skills in C/C++ and/or Java
  • Understanding of Microsoft Visual Studio, Visual Basic, NET programming desired
     

What's involved in Embedded:

  • Microprocessors and microcomputers, I/O interface design, system integration
  • Knowledge of Intel or Motorola series of processor architectural design and/or programming
  • Robotic control and algorithms
  • Programming skills in C/C++ and/or Java
