Laboratory training is required for all Research / Teaching staff and assistants employed by the University. Students who are only interested in registering for a specific lab course are not required to enlist in any laboratory training classes.

Federal law mandates that if you are going to be working with human and/or animal subjects, hazardous materials or radioactive materials, the following courses are required:

- Human: Research Involving Human Assistants
- Animals: Research Involving Animals
- Hazardous Materials: Hazardous Waste Management Training
- Radioactive Materials: Radiation Safety Training
